Description
Handmade by Alberto Seguro using the techniques of the ancient Nasca culture. Sr. Seguro gathers his own ingredients for the clay from the desert that surrounds him. This piece was then painstakingly constructed using small clay coils. The slip and glaze are made using natural ingredients pulverized with an antique mortar and pestle. The pieces are then burnished by hand and fired in a wood burning kiln.
Senor Seguro is one of the few ceramists using traditional pre-columbian techniques. A renowned expert on the Nasca culture, his work has been featured in National Geographic magazine and he has consulted for many documentaries on the Nasca Culture.
